MILESTONES – Guarantor of success for four decades
BBS wheels are the wheels of champions. Legendary and tremendously successful — on asphalt and off-road, in all major race series, for 50 years, worldwide. We are proud of this record. It underlines the unique performance level and outstanding racing competence of BBS. And it motivates us to tread new paths, push beyond limits and advance racing considerably in future too. BBS — the success story continues. For us and our partners!
THE 1970s – A BRILLIANT START
Just three years after the company’s foundation, BBS celebrates its first significant success with victory in the 1973 German motor racing championships. Many more triumphs follow, such as the European Touring Car Championship, the World Manufacturers’ Championship, the Interserie title and overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979.
THE 1980s – PRESSING SURELY AHEAD
A decade in which BBS is able to post a number of important racing successes. Several overall victories including at the 24-hour races of Le Mans, Daytona and at the Nürburgring. Plus the European and World Touring Car Championships, the World Manufacturers’ Championship and the IMSA GT-GTO-GTU Championship in the USA — to name just a few.
THE 1990s – UNCHALLENGED AT THE TOP
An extremely successful motor sport decade for BBS. Besides touring car championships in France, England, Italy and Germany, we celebrate victories in Indianapolis, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and at the Nürburgring, at the FIA GT Cups and many other championships. And with its two-time victory in the drivers’ and constructors’ titles, BBS also makes a flying start in Formula 1.
THE 2000s – EXTENDING THE LEAD
At the turn of the millennium, cars on BBS wheels dominate international motor sport – and, for example, win the Formula 1 drivers’ and constructors’ titles five times in a row. BBS also makes a successful appearance at the Dakar Rally for the first time. In addition, the company registers victories at nearly all the 24-hour races across the world and in all the major racing series in Europe, Asia and the USA.
THE 2010s – CONSISTENTLY SUCCESS-ORIENTED
The new decade is still young, but BBS is already able to look back on a whole series of great successes. Above all, winning the German Touring Car Masters title with BMW — to mark this racing team’s impressive DTM comeback in 2012. And as is to be expected, BBS wheels again proved themselves where the most extreme demands are made on the materials: at the toughest 24-hour races around the globe. Following the comeback in the WEC 2014, Porsche wins the overall victory three times in succession in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in an impressive field at the 24-hour race at Le Mans on magnesium forged wheels from BBS.
